Text Box: Notes and Reminders:
·         HOT LUNCH   Lunch count is taken by the teachers in the morning, and verified by Mrs. Pabich before deductions are made.  Families do not need to purchase lunch tickets but do need to make deposits to their family’s lunch account before the start of school.  Payments can be made through the packet during the year.  It is recommended that you begin with at least $40.00 per child if you intend on eating school lunch most days.  Monthly statements will be included in the packet with an envelope to do this.  Free and reduced lunch applications will be included in the first family packet on September 3rd.  We strongly encourage you to fill one out if you think you may qualify.  Those applications help our school lunch program and the items that we can get.
·         SUNRISE    Our early morning sunrise program begins on Tuesday, August 31.  Mrs. Cinker will continue as the supervisor.  Each day there will be a theme.  Look for more details at drop in day.  Charge between 7:30 am and 8:25 am is $4.00/hour for the first child, $3.00 for the second, $2.00 for the third.
·         TRANSPORTATION   Bus transportation will begin on September 2nd.  Parents of our youngest children should pin a tag on their child’s backpack with bus information.  Please call the bus company 235-4995 with questions.
·         PRESCHOOL   4K students should attend our drop in day on August 30th between 2-6 pm.  Ms. Strasser will be available in the morning  (9-1) if 3K students would like but it is not required.  Regular preschool will start on Tuesday, August 31st.  The hours for 3 year olds are 8:30-11:00am on Tuesday and Thursday and 4K is 12-3 pm Monday through Thursday.
·         DRESS CODE   We begin with uniforms on Tuesday, August 31st.  Preschool does not need to wear dress code.  Please review the policies and follow accordingly.
·         UNIFORM CLOTHING EXCHANGE   Tables are set up with school dress code items in the Parish Center lobby.  All items are item for item exchange or $1 each.
·         SAFE ENVIRONMENT:  yearly form will be available at drop in day as well as background checks if you are due for one.
·         SUMMER READING CELEBRATION: After drop in day at 6 pm.  Wear old clothes and RSVP to Mrs. Marach via email so she can plan for prizes and food.
·         COLLECTIONS:  If you would like to purchase an extra set of colored pencils or crayons, we will take them in the office.  A parishioner has offered to box and ship them to Afghanistan.

Text Box: NEW FOR 2010-11
Building God’s Kingdom
Each day, teachers will hand out a brick to a student who did something to help build God’s Kingdom here at Saint Joseph School.  The bricks will be built into a wall and displayed on the first floor bulletin board.  We are trying something new in lieu of HALO awards.  We all loved the HALO and hope that this is a worthy replacement.

All volunteers are required and parents are encouraged to be trained.  This training is mandated by the Diocese of

includes a questionnaire, books and video, and a background check every three years.  Books and video will be available on the Aug. 30th  drop in day.  You can also do this ahead of time at www.dioceseoflacrosse.com
Each family has a safe environment folder that you should update on drop in day.  Thanks in advance for you cooperation on this matter.
